On December 10 at 10:00 AM, you’ll have the chance to secure your seat for one of the most anticipated events of Holy Week: the Procession of Verges. Recognized as a National Heritage Festival, this celebration is a unique spectacle that blends culture, history, and tradition in a captivating and powerful atmosphere.
The theatrical performance, held in Verges’ main square, features nearly 400 actors and lasts for almost two hours. It reenacts the most iconic moments from the final days of Jesus’ life—from the entry into Jerusalem to his condemnation. The entire town becomes a living stage, where torchlight, music, and the passion of the performers immerse the audience in an unforgettable experience. One of the most symbolic highlights is the Dansa de la Mort (Dance of Death), an ancestral ritual that has only survived here, in our land.
