1. When is the Verges Procession celebrated?
The Verges Procession will be celebrated on Holy Thursday, next year, April 2, 2026.
The main events are:
5:30 PM Las Manages
9:30 PM * Representación Plaza
11:30 PM Procession through the streets
1:30 AM Crucifixion
The Children's Procession will take place on Holy Saturday, April 4.
2. Is it necessary to buy a ticket to see the Verges Procession?
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Verges Visitor Center while supplies last. If tickets are still available on Holy Thursday, they can only be purchased at the Verges Visitor Center.
3. Where and when can you see the Dance of Death?
The Dance of Death is part of the Mystery of the Passion performance that takes place in the main square of Verges on Holy Thursday at 9:30 p.m. This part of the festival is subject to a fee and requires admission.
However, it's also important to know that the Dance of Death takes place later, starting at midnight, in the procession that winds through the town's streets. This part of the festival is free and open to everyone. It's one of the most anticipated and symbolic moments, and anyone can see it as the procession passes through the torch-lit streets and the lit snail shells on the famous Calle de los Caracoles.
4. Can you attend the Procession without a ticket?
You only need a ticket to attend the performance of the Mystery of the Passion, which takes place in the Plaza Mayor on Holy Thursday at 9:30 p.m. This is a paid show with designated seats.
However, the procession that runs through the town streets starting at midnight, featuring the Dance of Death and all the scenes, is open and free to everyone. Everyone can see it as the cortege passes through the streets of the historic center of Verges.
5. Can I take photos and videos during the Procession?
Photography is permitted during the procession, but please remember that the use of flash is prohibited, neither in the Plaza Mayor nor during the procession through the streets. We ask for respect for the participants and the solemn atmosphere of the event.
