Yesterday, on Carrer Ample in Verges, one of those emotional moments that connect generations came back to life. Seventy-five years later, a historic photograph featuring Pere Sot Coll, Josep Casabó Ferrer and Vicenç Subirós Font was recreated in the very same spot where the original picture was taken in 1951.

In the original image, the three men were holding the helmets made by Ramon Marín, affectionately known as “el mut”, pieces that have become part of the collective memory of the Processó de Verges and the village’s cultural heritage.
Recreating the photograph was much more than repeating an old picture. It became a tribute to all the generations who have kept the tradition alive, to the people who have devoted their time and passion to the Processó, and to the shared history that defines Verges.
Past and present met once again on Carrer Ample, proving that some photographs never grow old. And, as was jokingly said afterwards: in 14 years, they will do it again.
