A morning of preparations
On Holy Thursday morning, Oriente Street and Migdia Street transform into Cargols Street. These long, narrow streets experience an unusual activity: locals come out and prepare the temporary lanterns that will be lit at night for the procession and then later in the day. They are filled with an oil that tradition dictates must be leftover from making the bruñuelos.
Meanwhile, the images or mysteries distributed among various houses in the town are decorated with flowers by the residents themselves. Lilies, carnations, roses, and asparagus ferns fill them with color and freshness. The images will wait until the afternoon for the manages to collect them for their evening procession. The rest of the preparations are also being finalized: the torches that will be shone through the streets at night are being prepared, all the props are being laid out... And in the houses, verses are being reviewed, dresses are being ironed, and a little rest is being taken while awaiting the intense day that will begin hours later.
