2026 Verges Procession Poster Contest

We will soon publish the rules of the competition to choose the poster for the Procession of the Virgins 2026. This year, works can be submitted from September 20 to November 5.

FAQ

1. Who can participate in the contest?

The contest is open to artists from the Catalan Countries. Anyone who meets the requirements can submit their works, as long as they are original and unpublished.

2. What is the objective of the contest?

The aim is to give artistic value to the promotional poster of the Verges Procession, combining the cultural heritage of the Procession with contemporary art. Artists are invited to reinterpret iconic elements such as the Dance of Death.

3. What is the required format for the works?

The works must have a vertical format of 65x50 cm, without margins, and must be made on paper.

4. Is it necessary to include the information specific to a poster, such as the date or event?

Yes, if the work includes text, it must contain the inscription: LA PROCESSÓ DE VERGES – DIJOUS SANT – 2 d'abril de 2026. However, adding text is not mandatory. The artist may decide to submit a work without any inscription. However, if it does have one, it must be exactly as indicated in the rules.

5. What does the selected artist win?

The winning work will receive a prize of €2,000, in addition to being included in the patrimonial fund of the La Processó de Verges Association, ensuring its presence in future events. In addition, the finalist works will be exhibited at Ca la Rosa between December 6, 2025 and December 28, 2025.

6. Can I submit a digitally created work?

Yes. Any technique is accepted, including digitally created works. In this case, the work must be submitted digitally for the initial selection process; if selected as a finalist, a printed copy must be presented in the format and dimensions specified in the rules.

7. How many proposals can I submit?

There is no limit on the number of proposals per artist; therefore, the same person may submit multiple works to the competition. Should more than one proposal from the same artist be selected, only one may advance to the final stage.
